P3 Geometry A (Fall 2020, Curtis)-Period 3 Assignments

Due on Thursday Dec 3rd at the beginning of class. You will not be required to present but will receive extra credit if you give a short 30 sec to 1 min explanation of what you did.

Please do numbers 1 thru 4. Problems 5 and 6 are part of tomorrow's assignment. This is the same worksheet that was assigned to find perimeter of a polygon.

For the assignment- on the worksheet you only need to find the perimeter of the quadrilaterals. DO NOT find the area.

This assignment is for the entire week. The purpose of this project is for you and your group to figure out all of the similarities and differences of different quadrilaterals in the plane. It is due Friday at the start of class Nov 20. On Friday your group will be presenting your quadrilaterals to the group. You will be creating a combined document with the class that will list all of the properties.

You may use graph paper and a calculator, but you may not use the internet or other sources of assistance.

On a piece of paper draw a pair of parallel lines and at least 2 transversals.
A. One of the transversals must be perpendicular to the parallel lines.
B. The second transversal must be drawn so that a triangle results between the parallel lines.
C. The perpendicular segment, between the parallel lines, must be one of the sides of the triangle.
D. Identify all angle pairs in terms of Alternate Interior Angles (AIA), Alternate Exterior Angles (AEA),
Corresponding Angles, Same Side Interior (SSI), Same Side Exterior (SSE).
E. Other transversals must have the resulting angles identified and listed. This is extra credit.
F. Upload your document and submit. Please make sure your images have loaded onto the google doc
before submitting.

EXTRA EXTRA CREDIT: Upload this as a second document:
Take a picture of an object in your home that shows a pair of parallel lines crossed by a transversal and identify all angle pairs as listed above. Use google draw or some other program to highlight the parallel lines and the transversal as well as numbering the angles.
